How Grills.co builds recommendations, what we promise readers, and what we don't do.
How recommendations are made
Recommendations on Grills.co are built from manufacturer specifications, warranty terms, retailer documentation, category fit, and common buyer needs. For each product we consider:
- Cooking area, burner count, and heat distribution.
- Build materials and steel grade.
- Warranty length and parts availability.
- Real-world serviceability and replacement cost.
- Long-term ownership reports from owner communities.
- Price-to-spec ratio.
Where weighted scoring appears, the weighting is published on the buying guide page.
Research-based vs hands-on reviews
Most reviews on Grills.co are research-based. They analyze published specifications, warranty terms, owner reports, and retailer documentation. They do not claim hands-on testing.
Where a review is genuinely based on hands-on testing, the page will explicitly label it as such and describe the testing methodology used.
Product inclusion criteria
Products appear on Grills.co buying guides if they meet category fit, build quality minimums, and serve a real buyer need. We do not accept payment for inclusion.
No pay-for-rank
Commercial relationships do not determine product rankings. A higher-commission product is not ranked above a lower-commission product if the lower-commission product is the better recommendation.
Affiliate disclosure
Pages with affiliate links display a clear disclosure near the top of the page. Pages with Amazon affiliate links display the Amazon Associates required statement. See our affiliate disclosure for the full statement.
Correction policy
We correct factual errors promptly. Significant corrections are noted on the affected page with a dated update line. Report errors through our contact page.
Update policy
Buying guides and product reviews are reviewed at least twice a year and after meaningful product changes (new model year, warranty changes, discontinuation). The last review date appears on every page.
What we don't do
- We do not fabricate test results.
- We do not paste scraped user reviews into our content.
- We do not write fake personal anecdotes.
- We do not use AI-generated review claims that imply first-hand testing.
- We do not run pay-to-play placements.
Reader trust statement
Grills.co may earn commissions from retailers, but affiliate relationships do not determine whether a product is included or how it is described. We prioritize clear buyer fit, product specifications, category relevance, warranty details, common user needs, and practical tradeoffs.
